About Dan Torunian
Your candidate for Sequoia Union High School District, Trustee Area B
Dan is a seasoned and transformative technology leader with over 44 years of diverse industry experience in Banking, Staffing, Retail and FinTech. Dan recently retired after 11 years at PayPal where he served in various senior technology leadership roles.
Post retiring from PayPal, Dan has remained active in the technology community as an Advisor to several start-ups and was recently named to Deloitte’s CIO Advisory Council as one of nine retired CIO’s chosen to help prepare the next generation of technology leaders.
Dan is very active in his local community, serving as President for Passion for the Lost, a faith-based charity that assists the incarcerated pre & post release. Dan also serves on the Redwood City Police Advisory Commission and has published numerous OpEd’s in the San Mateo Daily Journal on local topics of significance.
Finally, Dan also serves of the First Vice Chair of the San Mateo Republican Party responsible for fundraising, events and communications.
Dan is a native San Franciscan and now resides in Redwood City, CA.
